I sat down with a successful importer from China today, and got a lesson on the business. (Really) The points: Find the sources with unique value Generate demand for the product Purchase the product on the supplier's credit Develop regular relationships (dependable purchases) with the suppliers whose product moves Good luck
2 :
Nowadays, most suppliers want either a wire transfer or a letter of credit from a bank in order to do business with you. I would consult with your Small Business Development Center at your local college to find out about getting an SBA guaranteed loan.
3 :
Most exporters will demand a minimum order quantitiy. This becomes expensive quickly as they will be looking for a purchase order that is at least one thousand dollars. However, there are ways to begin working with little capital. Build your customer base by working with importers/wholesalers that are buying in bulk. This will allow you to begin generating revenue and developing relationships with your customers. When your sales volume is high enough to meet the minimum order quantities you can begin ordering directly. Best of luck, E.D.

Why is it that people who live in China's cities can make more money than people who live in it's countryside?

Does anybody know? I'm from the United States and I don't know very much about communism. Thank you.

It's a worldwide phenomenon, not confined to any country or political system. Here in NZ the lowest paid jobs are in rural areas. In the country, workers are more isolated, less unionised and less well-educated. Professional people often have ties in the university cities where they graduated and compete for jobs there. Rural areas get what's left. High technology jobs which pay well are in cities for obvious reasons. Inbreeding is more common in rural areas; city dwellers are part of a large gene pool. The same thing happens in the States; compare San Francisco or Boston with Mississippi or Kansas.

China is an epic-sized commune.....there is no comapriosn betwen PRC and USA ....in that every person is tested early and educated according to their scores, as well as their families ability to provide some assistance in the case of a well placed-test score ...when the earthquakes and the only buildings that collapse are the schools...that is a blatant indication of where the emphasis is on the education of those rural people...(it ain't) ....generally, those in the countryside are dropping out in primary school....life has little responsibility or varitety, if any at all really....farming is still mostly doen 'by-hand', what constitues a 'tractor' in PRC looks very similar to the car owned by 'Jed Clampett' and operated by 'Jethro', the 'vehicle' is a luxury to most little villages, although everywhere veggies are grown, labor is by shovel, hoe, rake, sickle, scythe, etc....and stacked upon carts, mostly pulled by hand, and pushed by helpers.....men, women, children all learn to farm, live on dirt floor old multi-family dwellings, right next to their section of land they are 'allowed' to farm ....then the produce is carted to the surrounding larger cities for immediate sale at open-street markets, where live ducks, chickens, pigeons, as well as, raw pork is butchered in the open sunshine, flies and all, along with the many blankets on the ground where the veggies are displayed for sale ....if a child tests well, and somehow goes to a university, their life still is not mirrored to the US at all and likely earn equal to US minimum wage at best....even for professors ....if somehow a family rises to economic independence, it is because they are already high-born, are 'party members' and have many high-level 'party' connections that send them contract business, information and also disallow competition, thusly 'insuring' the over-night' millionaires rising in PRC today....it is not some phenomena, juz plain ol' hard working good ol boy system in it's blatant glory (that is fact, not fiction) ....a small group in absolute control over an enormous workforce of carefully controlled peasants ...those peasants are cared-for by minimal means doled out through various levels of prefecture and local managers ...chemicals are used to grow perfect high yield veggies ....cigarettes are encouraged at every opportunity and made avaialble cheaply, to the peasants ....health care is only for the sick and weak, not strong healthy people ....long-term health care is non-existent ....population control is tantamount, therefore life expectancy, in real terms, is 60 for men, who experience the greatest exposure to the most toxins....since women smoke less, longer for those who avoid catching the 'cancer' .....but many many women also work in male-dominated jobs too, earning 'higher, more consistent wages' and experiencing the same exposures

It has nothing to do with the government. Look at America, where are the highest paying jobs? In the cities, that's why people work in the cities! Farmers are always the lowest paid people, that is why the American government has farm subsidies for the big corporate farms. The corporate farms make big money now, but the workers get very little money. That is why illegal Mexicans work on farms.

China's economy works more like capitalism nowadays. The communist economy system died and utterly failed in the mid 1900s. So basicly people in the countryside are not near areas that bring in a lot of moeny, so they don't have a lot of money either. Its kind of like how the US urban centers are where the wealth lies. Also, countryside people rarely get involved in international/national related buisnesses, which is where big bucks can be made. They usually are local farmers who sell to other locals or nearby cities.

How much money does an average person make in China each month?
How much money does an average person make in China each month?
What about each year?

well when i was in high school i saw a movie about chinese factory workers who made mardi gras. and from what i remember it was like 250USD a month but those were people who came from the coutry to work at factories. so i would say anything in betweem 250USD to about 600USD maybe even less than 600. i know for a fact that factory owners make about 1G usd.
2 :
As far as I'm aware, the average monthly income of a Chinese citizen is around 6,000RMB.
3 :
The wage rare and income is different based on occupation, location and sex. There is no national average available. But the more exact and up-to-date data is income per capita of $6700 or 44,599.22 CNY(Yuan) per year.
4 :
This varies, drastically, depending on where the person lives. For example, the "average" migrant laborer in Shanghai makes more money than the average farmer, generally speaking, but the cost of living in Shanghai is much higher than it is in any rural area. At the moment, the average salary of recent college graduates and migrant workers in urban areas are both around 1,500 RMB/month (about $230 US). So the salary of the "average" urban white collar worker is higher, probably more like 2,000-4000 RMB/month. The "average" farmer these days spends the off-season working in the city to earn extra money, so it's hard to so say what their yearly earnings are, probably fairly similar. But like I said, salaries can vary HUGELY from place to place because the cost of living is also varied. For example, in a rural area a nice apartment might cost around 1,000 RMB/square meter. But in Beijing, you'd be lucky to find a nice place for less than 35,000RMB/square meter. Food, clothing, and shelter all cost more in cities; and generally speaking, the more developed the city, the more expensive.
