What will happen if China requests its money?
We, the United States of America, owe China a lot of money, obviously. Last time I checked, it was over 800 billion, probably over a trillion by now. So what happens if China all at once demands their money? Or do we have some kind of agreement to prevent that? If they request it all, we obviously can't pay it, so will the government try everything to come up with money, making our dollar value drop even moreeee? Also, if we go into war with China, will we ignore our debt to them and consider us debt free of an extra trillion bucks? When do you think we'll go into war with China, if we go into war with them at all? Last thing, your opinion, do you think we'd win the war with China if we ever got into a war with China? Personally I'd say no. I think we have better training, and equipment, but they have over a billion people they can use in the military if they NEED to. We have like 200,000 people who can go. (not including allies, just U.S. vs China) Ahem assuming nuclear war doesn't happen. Just regular ol' conventional war, which is already probably too much to hope for.

I doubt it. My bank is not going to demand I Immediately pay off my truck loan right now.
2 :
If we were to go to war with China they would loose alot of food because we are a major food trading source or it would be a complete nuclear disaster. China will just try to eventually run our goverment so far into debt that we wont be able to afford a military.
3 :
Um, they won't 'request' money. They will simply sell all U.S. Treasuries at auction. Oh by the way, they started selling back in March. Hold on for a wild ride.
4 :
What they own are Treasury securities. http://www.treasury.gov/resource-center/data-chart-center/tic/Documents/mfh.txt As you can see, they did sell off about $30 billion, which is pocket change. If they sold all of them on the open market, it would probably devalue the Dollar, but it depends on who buys them. They won't sell them off, or do anything to devalue the Dollar, because they attach their currency to the Dollar. China does not let their own currency float on the open market like the Dollar. They attach it to the Dollar, to create a trade imbalance, favoring them. They actually invest in US securities to keep their own currency stronger. China is too interested in building it's economy and growing wealth to be interested in warring with anyone. Actually, what is happening today, happened in the reverse hundreds of years ago, when they were the world's economic superpower, and the U.S was the emerging nation.

There will not be winners in war.

if China asked for its money back, the usa would sell some fictitious story to the americans, because americans are so gullable they will believe anything. the usa would of course attack China militarily, which is precisely why China doesnt ask for its money. in fact, i am pretty sure that China bought u.s. govt bonds out of coersion, and blackmale by the u.s govt.

Is China's morality crisis the reason behind the Chinese credibility crisis?
Is China's morality crisis the reason behind the Chinese credibility crisis?
People without any moral compass in China producing tainted food, toys and drugs just because they see it an easy and quick way to make money. This in turn puts a big question mark over the credibility of made in China products. Is morality crisis the only reason behind the Chinese credibility crisis or there are other reasons as well?

There are good and bad people in every country, and China is no exception. China has the population as much as the population of 25 mid-size countries combined, thus, 25 times of news come out everyday more than other countries. For example, the Japanese ex-foreign Minister was found having accepted bribes. Japanese men are said to be crazily interested in traveling abroad in a group to buy cheap sex services from south asian hookers. Another example, there are bunches of schemes going on in the Wall Street. The hedge fund manager Madoff has defrauded thousands of investors of $18 billion dollars. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bernard_Madoff By seeing the above examples, do you believe that the moriality and credibility of other countries' are anywhere better than China's ? Edit : @catlover .... morality can go beyond laws. How about a married japanese man keep buying sex services from hookers, what kind of morality he has towards his family ? The asker is asking about Morality, not asking if prostitution should be legalised. @catlover .... I dont eat rotten fruits, regardless it is a rotten apple or rotten orange. They are rotten !! Did you get it ? @catlover ..... I deeply hate anyone who does thing beyond morality include those greedy people who poison food and those dirty men who buy sex services from hookers. Edit : @ Lim .... dont you know that China executes death penalty ? Can u read my answer again. China has a population 25 times bigger than a mid size country, thus, more news can be found. On the same token, China has 25 times more scientists than many countries. .

Chinese people generally do very well academically overseas, they prove themselves to be intelligent and wise, they are known to be hard working too. The fact that so many Chinese products are tainted to a level that is lethal can only be explained by lack of morality of some people. Yes there are bad people in every country. But if you lose money at least some of it could be recovered with or without a conviction. Prostitution should and could be legalized in every country. Tainted products are harmful to our health and sometimes have killed humans, most of the time children. You cannot ever get a dead person back. I have heard many Chinese people said that they would not buy any food products from and made in China. Chinese products have lost a lot of credibility. @dog lover - so you're more concerned about married men going to brothels than poisonous food products including baby milk powder that killed babies and changing pork into beef, thank you for showing us your moral standard. @dog lover - of course I get it, I am saying no consumers, Chinese or not, deserve all the rotten and dangerous products we get out of China and this hurts its credibility. If you don't admit the reality there are immoral food producers in China, your country and its people are only going to suffer more as you cannot do anything with something that does not "exist".

Cat has given a very good answer. There is no comparison between tainted foods (which kill or maim for life) poisoned toys (which do the same thing as the tainted food) with some man who has a affair while being married. Do you understand the differences dog? One item is a crime and it kills children the other is a bad marriage but it is not illegal nor does it kill children or maim them. Maybe the person who has a affair would poison the children's food too but there is no connection that has been proven that this is the case. If you believe poisoning children and a man having a affair are comparable then you do not need to be in control of any child. When any person or company gets caught poisoning tons of milk destined for children than there is a very big problem with all aspects of the business. This should be a big flag to all involved that the QC the QA and all other processes have failed. When this happens more than one time then these companies should be shut down and a complete investigation run as to where the ball was dropped and what actions need to be taken to prevent this from ever happening again. All products should be recalled and destroyed. This should happen in China as well as any other country where anything like this is caught, but this question is about Chinese credibility not some other nations. Many people here in this section have a very hard time understanding these English questions. This question was asked by a person who, as pc says, has the right to ask anything they wish. This question is about China's morality and credibility (everybody understand so far), the person asking this should be given the same respect you would like if you ask a question. You still with us dog? This question has nothing to do with some young black punk shooting his competition about turf. It has nothing to do with some married man having a affair. The question is simple and strait forward. If you do not have the mental capability to understand the question get somebody to help you, then show the respect you would like if you ask a question.

There are good and bad people in every country, and China is no exception however China has had a string of high profile events that have put "made in China" in question. Part of the problem lies in the fact that there is no real legal come back process if anything goes wrong. But dog lover what about the 1 million people conned in the ant farming scheme with so-called government backing. What about the thousands Chinese officials who like to visit Thailand as sex tourists or have paid for mistresses. What about the Chinese officials who get put to death for corruption the highest being the head of the drug and food safety department. What about products that have been proved to have put in hospital over 300,000 children from using products from the majority of Chinese milk producers. But Lim it happens more than 25 times more than those 25 countries..

It is unwise for people who live in glass houses to throw stones. America never had a "moral compass", so they are in no position to criticize others. Is America's morality crisis the reason behind the American financial crisis? American drug abuse crisis? American violent crime crisis? American multiple foreign wars crisis? American inner-city decay crisis? American racism crisis? American national debt crisis?
6 :
Your presumption is supportable. Evidence indicates that the CCP has long denied the citizens of the PRC any secure access to their moral compass.

i think exacly tthe same thing, why not? but people have told me it would destroy our economy, like in places in africa, al loaf of bread would go from 1$/£ to like 100000£/$ because everyone would have millions :) hope i helped
2 :
We used to call it PRINTING more money. No, we cannot really do that, because it would not create more VALUE. Value is the sum of what people would be willing to pay for goods and services that we produce. If we create more money, then the cost of our goods and services would increase, but the value would remain the same. The challenge, really, is to PRODUCE more goods and services, and deliver more of that value to China, in exchange for a return of the money that we owe to them. That's actually not a bad way to go, since it creates jobs, jobs create wealth, and wealth creates comfort and domestic tranquility. We actually have to BE SMARTER and work MORE EFFICIENTLY to go about it. And have no doubt -- we certainly will.
3 :
No. It's make the value of the dollar go down if we print more money, since everyone would have it..
4 :
Either that or they can cook up a bunch of chow mein for us! I luv the stuff!

i here we are traiding clean water know,.. and another thing i here is that,.,, if you owe the bank money the bank owns you,. but if you owe the bank more money then the bank owns you own the bank,... what seems bad is only a matter of perpective we need them as much as they need us
can't we just make more money?
