Baidu will virtually be a monopoly so you should invest with them until you notice a competitor coming along. Keep your eye open for a new internet search engine which should pop up soon...possibly another Chinese run company.

Everyone expected this. That is why Baidu has been run up almost 50% in the past few months. That was the time to buy (on or before Jan. 12). Now is the time to sell Baidu.

Come on! It's Fox News. Did you read any more than the headline? "the information has not been confirmed" Did you miss that? The story is being spread by an advertiser ("an unidentified Chinese advertising agency" who is worried about his advertising revenue. "The report did not specify whether Google would close all or part of its operations in the country." www.google.cn may close but www.google.com will probably remain open and relatively uncensored as it always has been. This is a story about nothing like most of Fox's churnalism. Google will not leave China.

if i were Google i would invest in Yahoo... look how wise was "China invested in the USA"... it's a game with no loss... Yahoo grows -- their investments grow too... Yahoo fails -- here they are, with their own branches... feed your enemies -- this keeps them from eating you...

Only day traders have the wherewithal to make investments based on frivolous news stories, and you have to move fast to make any profits. For the long haul, invest in real estate. At least, by doing so, you'd have something tangible in the end, even if the market collapses.

I have no idea why "google is leaving" China. It sounds like a disrupt between the Chinese government and google. China often imposes unfavourable demands foreign business operating in China. Google may simply had enough of it.
