well when i was in high school i saw a movie about chinese factory workers who made mardi gras. and from what i remember it was like 250USD a month but those were people who came from the coutry to work at factories. so i would say anything in betweem 250USD to about 600USD maybe even less than 600. i know for a fact that factory owners make about 1G usd.

As far as I'm aware, the average monthly income of a Chinese citizen is around 6,000RMB.

The wage rare and income is different based on occupation, location and sex. There is no national average available. But the more exact and up-to-date data is income per capita of $6700 or 44,599.22 CNY(Yuan) per year.

This varies, drastically, depending on where the person lives. For example, the "average" migrant laborer in Shanghai makes more money than the average farmer, generally speaking, but the cost of living in Shanghai is much higher than it is in any rural area. At the moment, the average salary of recent college graduates and migrant workers in urban areas are both around 1,500 RMB/month (about $230 US). So the salary of the "average" urban white collar worker is higher, probably more like 2,000-4000 RMB/month. The "average" farmer these days spends the off-season working in the city to earn extra money, so it's hard to so say what their yearly earnings are, probably fairly similar. But like I said, salaries can vary HUGELY from place to place because the cost of living is also varied. For example, in a rural area a nice apartment might cost around 1,000 RMB/square meter. But in Beijing, you'd be lucky to find a nice place for less than 35,000RMB/square meter. Food, clothing, and shelter all cost more in cities; and generally speaking, the more developed the city, the more expensive.
