What can I import from China/India to sell?

What can I import from China/India to sell?
I was thinking of importing iPod's from china and selling them on ebay and to my friends to make money? Any other suggestions? Also am I allowed to import from China? Do I need any legalization to sell things? I don't know thanks for the help :)

You are not allowed to import Apple products to sell. They are heavily controlled. If you are not an authorized reseller, you could be in a lot of trouble, the least of which is confiscation of goods. A generic mp3 player maybe. There are a lot of things to import. You could always go to China and browse wholesale markets. It's actually a facinating experience. Silk clothing, purses (not fake designer ones), cell phone accesories, non logo gaming accessories, etc. Do not import western based electronic media and software. When you ship them, they will be confiscated, because they are most likely pirated. Foreign (specific to that country) TV shows in DVD packs are ok.

is it false that billionaires make money? am i right or wrong? have i made a mistake in reasoning? wot u thnk?
everyone 'knows' that billionaires make money, but is it true? all the money stands for all the work - no wrk, no products, money worthless - twice the wrk, same money, money buys twice as much wrk [products, wealth] - but in transaction [exchange, deals, trade], the workvalues of the items HAVE to be diffrnt, ie x and x+y, so transactn HAS to be fair exchange no robbery [x for x] plus 'robbery' [=y] y can be large - eg, monoply prices - eg, new technolgy [demand high, spply small [indstry gearing up]] - eg, land, whch is monopolistic, called by economists a right of private taxation, eg, close the commons, herd workers into cities, cheap labour - eg, preventing import of grain in famine, big profits - eg, making big farms instead of small farms to reduce output [small farms 16 times more productive, eg, china & sudan, 30 times agri. efficiency of usa] billionaires are the effect of big y's, ie robberies they own 1000s times more prdcts [gds servcs] than they create - no?

You're missing the L formula in your equation. L stands for luck. The most powerful influence in life.
2 :
There are probably as many takes on this as there are humans alive who use money. On on extreme are those who believe that there is no wealthy without a power advantage to extract money from those with less power. This can be anything from armed robbery to sale of the latest technology. At the other extreme is the concept that a fool and his or her money are soon parted. Someone must be the receiver, so it might as well be some of the wealthy. An often used counter question to yours is who knows better what to do with prosperity than those who have money and are used to using it?

Is American Culture dead? Is America, only a place to make money and leave?

Is American Culture dead? Is America, only a place to make money and leave?
I think, American culture is nothing to be proud of. But America is a good place to make money, I just don't find people and the values in this society any interest to me. You wake up go to work, eat, sleep, and do it again. Going to entertainment is not much fun either because people are to egotistical to be with, they walk around with flashing signs as to say, "hey look at me!" very narcisistic. they buy fancy cars for the purpose of showing people how much money they have. That kind of value is bad. Even if you are pretty and rich, having bad values, don't make you any more attractive. So, I found out how to make money and not have to live in the USA. I trade stocks on the internet and live in my paradise in china. that way, I have the best of both worlds, make money and live in a culture I am proud of.

And China is paradise when a doctor gets paid as much as a janitor, the majority of the country can't afford to buy a car, baby girls are killed or sent away and boys are much more valued, has the world's worst pollution, sweat shops are everywhere paying people 50 cents an hour, life expectancy isn't up to par with the rest of the world, Google and Yahoo have limited search because they don't want people to find out what the rest of the world is like, and the list goes on and on.

America is less than 300 years old. China is several millenia old. You can't really compare the two in terms of culture. However, I'd still rather live in America than in China, by far.
6 :
America does have a culture. Outdoor BBQs, pool parties, football, etc. And lets be for real, the whole money as religion thing is bigger in China than anywhere else. Wasn't it your premier who said, "to get rich is glorious"? So, if you didn't have a good time here, its all on you for not finding better activities or friends, not America's lack of culture.

Would it make economic sense to move from USA to China?

Would it make economic sense to move from USA to China?
I know the USA is a great country, but from a money-making perspective. It looks like China is what USA used to be like when the US economy was booming and we had thriving industries in America, which are now gone forever. 1) China manufactures almost everything. 2) China has high-speed rail systems and public works. 3) Chinese services in America are very price-competitive. (e.g. Chinatown Buslines operates busses by the hour Washington, DC to New York City ($17.50 each way). $15 each way to Boston. Chinese are economically more and more efficient by cutting costs. 4) China for the first year in history, purchase more automobiles than the United States, and they are surpassing Germany and Japan in auto production. 5) China controls everything now, including the value of the USA currency. 6) China also does not need to invest in the Defense budget of the USA because nobody wants to fight a country with 1.3 Billion subjects. 7) China has more manpower than the USA and far more growth potential, because there are much fewer labor laws, no unionization of workers, no minimum wage, much more cost efficient at pretty much everything. The NEW USA is happening right now in China. In China, it is like the way things used to be in the United States. In China, if you want to manufacture automobiles, manufacure steel, manufacture computers, manufacture clothing, manufacture headphones, manufacture DVD machines....there's factories everywhere you look...all the factories that were once USA factories. Shouldn't we just move to China? china everyone is Chinese, there's no subsidies for minorities, there's no real diversity, it's just everybody's one....they are Chinese

China is so cheap. I would be rich if I lived there. Just go, probably the best idea for long term investment.
2 :
Yes. You've pretty much stated every reason that matters already. In addition, they have a powerful military, loads of people, great industry, and own much of America's debt. If China wanted to, it could take us over militarily or economically. Better to be on the Chinese side before that happens.
3 :
Bye bye! Please take as many liberals with you as you possibly can!
4 :
China manufactures almost everything. It's actually American businesses that move to China because of the low taxes. China also does not need to invest in the Defense budget of the USA because nobody wants to fight a country with 1.3 Billion subjects tHat is their Army, they do not have a Navy. China has more manpower than the USA and far more growth potential, because there are much fewer labor laws, no unionization of workers, no minimum wage, much more cost efficient at pretty much everything. Now the U.S has all of those things, and our economy sucks. You think the 2 may correlate?
5 :
What an ignorant idea. The Chinese government is oppressive, no amount of economic stability is worth one's freedom.
6 :
China is still a communist nation so if you like having your personal life constantly regulated by Big Brother, feel free.
7 :
What you forgot to mention: Most people in China are struggling right now with money and the chances of moving up in your status are much smaller than in the U.S. China is WAY overcrowded. China has a very overcontrolling government. I think I'll live with all my liberties in the U.S., thank you!
8 :
You would not be happy there. In China you would be considered stupid, weak, petty, and inferior.

How do you make money trading currencies? Please explain as if to a first grader....?
I feel like I'm losing money everyday keeping my savings in USD. I live abroad but kept my money in USD because I just kinda figured it was safer, but boy I should've switched it to RMB (Chinese yuan) a long time ago. Now I'm moving to Japan in a few days and wonder if it would be better to take out all that money now (in China) and then switch it from RMB to yen, or if I should wait til I get to Japan and just switch USD-YEN. What's the best plan of action? I heard the dollar just fell a whole bunch against the yen, so thats why im asking. I don't really understand the currencies market...

How can China best improve the life of its rural farmers?

How can China best improve the life of its rural farmers?
I perceive a need to distribute China's population farther from the east coast cities, yet the lure of a comfy life in Shanghai, et al. and/or the opportunity to make money in the cities appeals to many rural persons. Might there be a way to encourage a reverse migration? @Exco - Might a better transportation system to the west (Central Asia) be of some benefit? I'm thinking of something like an Atlanta-sized transport hub in the Uyghur region, flying cargo in and out from the EU, Africa, etc.

LET THEM HAVE MORE THAN ONE KID OR CHILD PER COUPLE.
2 :
One solution - when the conditions of rural areas match those of urban areas the population will evenly distribute. But how can you encourage industries to set up further inland, where trade is far less efficient than near the coast or rivers? No matter what social reforms you bring about, you still can't change the geographical situation. Same goes for every other country in the world.
3 :
life as a rural farmer is already better than Shanghai: organic food free range chicken, duck, geese... no pollution in air living in nature free education til 9th grade no tax at all can have more than 1 kid not drenched with materialism, blind consumerism, divorce rate is low no temptation such as gambling, prostitution, so less likely to get aids, syphyllis... probably live longer life
4 :
Put a representative government in place of the private club that now runs the nation. Then you have people with equal voting power in the group that makes the decisions on what the nation needs. A rich power broker who only wants to make money and to wield international power will never be able to make sane decisions about anything to do with the rural life in China. Do you think a baker could give qualified information on how to build and power generator and where it would need to be? Look at what the nation of China has done in the past few years, not the people but the nation. The country that was here for thousands of years and will be only a poisoned mass of pollution if it continues going the way it is headed.
5 :
Pay them for what they do might help . But if you did that people would have to make more in the cities so the ccp would not go for that . I think get the ccp out are "the club" and get people who know what to do . It might help there whole country .

$10,000,000,000,000 is kind of a lot of money, just possibly, maybe, kinda, sorta-- ya know... cash... deficit. I'm not picking up the tab for programs that won't even exist once the current 65+ generation is dead. Yeah, the ones I PAY FOR that won't make ends meet when I'm old.

u dont understand, its all a hoax. we owe them 10 trillion on paper, but though us so much more for making them wealthy. ten trillion is nothing, we are the reason why they can charge so much ITS CALLED KICKBACKS. all wealthy politicians do this and developers. all countries must bow to america. we are the reason why they are eating well or even poorly for that matter...
7 :
Well since we went over to Fiat currency (nothing really backing the money) it has all been a matter of faith anyway. China wants us to buy stuff at Wal-Mart. The Saudis want everyone to use oil as long as they have it to sell. Every country in the world has an interest in keeping the balls in the air. It is all a moving paper fantasy anyway. The only thing that will always hold value is gunpowder and alcohol. Just like the song says.
8 :
The big picture uh? Well, the view is different down here where I live. There will be a war, and we will be at war on our grounds. Hell, they already own the most of buildings, banks (citi bank for one) , and much more than people are willing to admit. The programs of now, might as well throw them out the window and realize this is our future and those who are wealthy don't give a crap. Social Security will be a thing of the past. I know how you feel, I have worked since I was 16 and paid in for this too. But I saw my own Mother who worked hard all her life, what few years she drew before her death, doing without to make ends meet. And that was over a year ago, so if you think we are in bad shape now. You ain't seen nothing yet.... Freedom? Our fore fathers must be rolling over in their graves!!
9 :
The funny thing is they can destroy this country without ever firing a shot. They'll simply quit funding our wars of aggression and China can impose trade sanctions. What will America do without Wal-Mart?
10 :
Bankruptcy We came up with $750 billion for those rich greedy bast*** that F***ed everyone.

Three words...World War III, if that doesn't already happen with us against Russia, Iran, and Pakistan,..otherwise it'll be WWIV. Wouldn't surprise me in the least if we are involved in a nuclear war by 2020.

5 Year chart of the US dollar in comparison to Chinese Yuan http://finance.yahoo.com/q/bc?s=USDCNY=X&t=5y&l=on&z=m&q=l&c= The Chinese bought a treasury bond they were "paid" interest on the purchase of one US dollar and converted it to 8 Yuans The US has been printing money to make up for the fact no one is buying their treaurty bonds anymore and that has lead to devaluing the currency of the US Now instead of converting that one dollar to 8 it converts to 6 because the US has devalued its money And the US answer ? Devalue your own currency to make up for the difference by printing more Yuans and steal the purchasing power of the money from the Chinese people to make the equation table LOOK like it used to Surprise they think its a stupid idea Why should China devalue its money to the point the US has devalued it's own currency ? How do I take advantage of a rising middle class in china? What stocks would do well, domestic and foreign?

How do I take advantage of a rising middle class in china? What stocks would do well, domestic and foreign?
What stock would make money with more Chinese having more disposable income? Cell phone companies in China I would guess and maybe some high fashion. For this you would need to know a little about chinese culture too. I know they probably like to gamble a little more than people in other parts of the world.

Try mutual funds and etfs. Also, try this site, which gives good stock recommendations: http://alpha-investing.com/ But i recommend MCHFX, FXI and CAF. Those are all very good. And as you said, "more disposable income" which means more earnings for banks. FXI and MCHFX both do that. Although, FXI is more heavily invested in financials that MCHFX. CAF is also a very volatile stock, but if you are very bullish on china (like i am) i would buy some of it. I suggest all 3 of the above if you have the money.
2 :
Hi, I do not recommend ETFs or Mutual Funds. Currently the Chinese stocks are over valued. The time to buy Chinese stocks was when the DOW was floating at 7000 points. Sectors I recommend you track are the Chinese industrials. NYSE: FMCN, PTR, ACH, PKX, Stay away from Baidu, or those Internet stocks. Alternatively you can buy American stocks that have huge presence in China. Chinese people really like eating KFC Chicken. Chinese people do not gamble any more than Americans do. Please don't say that if you yourself admit to not-knowing much about Chinese culture.
3 :
There is no rising middle class in China, only the rocketing price of estates. And due to the later one, the middle class actually stops growing if not declining. Most of their income are sucked by loan repayment. The stock market in China is full of craps. So the only thing you may take advantage of, is the rocketing price of estates in China. However, with the money for a decent apartment in Shanghai, you probably could buy a house in a decent area in California. And a bubble always bursts at the end, you just don't know when it will.

5 :
Your question is based on a flawed assumption. China has not "loaned" the U.S. any money. What China has done is bought US Government bonds, the same way that a large number of private investors have. Bonds --whether from a government or from a company -- require periodic payment of interest and have a maturity date. The bondholder does not have a right to demand repayment until the "maturity date" on the bond. On that date, the bond is paid in full. The only way that the bondholder can get "full" payment on the bond prior to the maturity date is to sell the bond to another person. Bonds have different lengths. Some mature in a month, some mature in a year, some mature in 20 or 30 years. Additionally when bonds are sold on the open market, the price paid for them is not necessarily the same as the amount due on the maturiy date. (Depending on what buyers think about the adequacy of the interest rate on the bond, a bond with a redemption value -- the amount paid when it matures -- of $1,000.00 could bring $1,010.00 when it is sold or could bring only $950.00 when sold.) Normally, the US government pays for maturing bonds by selling new bonds. Now what China could do that would cause a problem -- either now or when its bonds mature -- is stop buying new bonds. If a major purchaser stopped buying bonds, the price of bonds would fall meaning that the US would have to sell bonds with a higher total maturity value (which would mean more money due at the end and more interest payments annually) to raise the same amount of money. One way that the US might cope with a major buyer dropping out of the bond market is for the Federal Reserve Board to increase the amount of bonds that it purchases. The role of the Federal Reserve Board in the government bond market is what most people actually mean when they talk about the government printing more money. Basically, all the Federal Reserve Board does is loan money to banks and the federal government. When it is loaning out money -- buying government bonds -- it is increasing the money supply (i.e. printing money). When it is having those loans repaid (selling the bonds that it owns or redeeming them), it is decreasing the money supply. Some economists believe that increasing the money suppy is one cause of inflation.

To the HQ in America which likely does not pay taxes because of all the loopholes available.
2 :
It stays within the company. It also goes into investors pockets. These American companies are registered in the stock market and anyone can purchase their stocks and "own" a portion of McDonalds, Wendy's, Enron etc. If they make money, their stock will rise up and the investors will collect dividends.
3 :
the corporate people who work for mcDonalds and others keep all the profits for themselves. they are known as the Haves.

9 :
They are accounted as revenues to the parent company. If the business is situated in a low tax zone overseas or a tax-haven, then the company's profit increases. If this money is not repatriated back to the US (i.e, not brought back to the US) or given as dividends to the shareholders, then taxes on these can be deferred, which means no money comes as taxes to the US. We need a trade expert to talk more about this but here's the source below for more information.

Where will money made from the Chinese Olympics go, and who will benefit?
I'm assuming China expects to make a lot of money from the Games, which is of course why countries want to hold them. But where does the money come from, and where will it go? Are China's businesses all state-owned? Will money go to athletics groups in thecountry, and on training for young aspiring athletes? All will all the money raised go towards propping up the Chinese state?

Since we have such a large debt with china, wouldn't their devaluing of currency actually make it easier?
Since we have such a large debt with china, wouldn't their devaluing of currency actually make it easier for us to pay them back? I'm confused as to the exchange rate logic behind all of this. When US borrows Chinese money, it essentially sells china US bonds. Thus it receives Yen. Which must be converted into dollars? Correct? If you could get more dollars for your yen, then this makes bond selling prospects better no?
Economics - 1 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :

They are devaluing their currency all the time by pegging it to the dollar. To maintain the peg the Chinese central bank buys dollars from Chinese exporters with newly printed Yuan. Then they use these dollars to buy - among others - US bonds. If the U.S. wanted to pay back their debt it would have to cut 1,6 trillion in government spending. Yuan devaluation makes it easier for the U.S. to go into more debt, and not to pay the debt back.

How a 16 year old can make a lot of money through the internet?
So this kid who goes to my school was standing near me and he pulls out this huge wad of cash. I don't know him, and frankly I'm a little scared of him because he is one of the bad kids in my school. But I overheard him saying he got it from some guy in China that he didn't know. Through money order or something like that (I think.) I'm guessing he did this using the internet, but I dont know what he could have done. Does anyone have any ideas?! What is fraud? O_o

Let me get this straight, we send china our jobs so business can make cheaper goods?
and open new markets in china to sell their goods. We get cheaper goods here, but lose jobs, .....which sounds to me like China is the winner in that little exchange---country to country that is, and in addition to that, our country spends way more than it takes in in tax revenues and we may come the difference by borrowing money from china.---which gives china another advantage over us country to country. Does the chinese govt have some sort of hold on our politicians...do our elected leaders work for us or the chinese?

Can we as consumers only buy products that are made in the U.S.A., or at least forgo China's? It is a challenge to do so. It is worth a try for those that can afford it.

Of course this doesn't apply to Germany, Japan, India or Korea - all of which have done exactly the same thing (though not on the scale of 2 billion Chinese). Get an economics book and read it.

Yep you have it straight!!! It is so obvious a raw deal for the USA but for some reason the rich and elite keep telling us it is good for our economy. Of course there could be a little black mail involved. If the Chinese stop buying up our national debt we would have an inflation rate that would be off the charts

What is worse, is that U.S. taxpayers subsidize the exportation of our jobs through corporate welfare and our huge military which mainly exists to protect the overseas assets of U.S. owned international corporations. how can 14 and 16 year olds make money?
my sister and i got a people to people to china and really want to go. we need about 8,000-10,000 dollars for the trip. My sister has a job, but im 14 and obviously cant get one. I need fund raising ideas but dont want cheesy ones. i babysit and know of the website people to people has for fund raising. Could you set up a website for donations explaining why you want to go and set up donations? I'm not sure how that is done, but know people who have done that. If you attend church, perhaps you could put a posting in the bulletin. I think at 14 in my particular state you can do some jobs, like bagging groceries, but theres not a lot of options. Good luck.
3 :
Well fundraisers aren't appropriate because you are trying to raise money for your own benefit and people who buy from fund raising sales think their money is going to charity so that wouldn't be right. If you are a babysitter you should be able to get enough business that way. Call up some of your friends and start a network where if they can't babysit when they are asked one night they can refer you, and offer to do the same for them.

Silicon technology may not be born in China, but most, and I say most, not ALL of what you use in daily consumer electronics from many big branded American products are shifting their production facilities first from stateside to Mexico, then now to China and other parts of Asia. I think you can google facts for other industries easily. If you're looking for opinions to bash China.. I guess you can do it here.

Did you live under Stalin, Castro, or Mao Tse Tung? You have no idea what you are talking about.
2 :
Personally, I think trade is the single most effective way to democratize a nation. Far more effective than an invasion, for instance. However, I also believe that because capitalism necessitates that there will be some losers, a basic social safety net is a wonderful idea. It frees people to take entrepreneurial risk (because if the venture fails, at least your family won't starve), and it helps produce a class of capable, educated workers. Plus, I believe it's always wrong to let a child starve. So, I'm all for trade, and I believe it will increase the freedoms of the nations we trade with (if done properly), but I'm no fanatic yelling "commie!" at the mere hint of helping others, so perhaps I'm not really the target audience for your question.
3 :
The trade the US has been doing with China has done more to take out communism than any war ever could. We are democratizing China. Liberalism and its tyranny on our US manufacturing put us out of business. We cannot compete.
4 :
In the interest of China.......If we couldn't make money off them they would be as bad as Cuba or North Korea! Money makes the world go 'round.....or was that love? Hmmmm! Maybe the love of money makes the world go 'round!
5 :
I don't understand this inconsistency from the Bush administration either. There are a lot of conservatives bemoaning the fact that we are rushing our economic future into the hands of the RED Chinese. This will come back to bite us but as long as the Neo-cons (who aren't real conservatives to begin with) remain in power, the warnings are being ignored. The only real hope is that the communists in Beijing lose a grip on their increasingly wealthy population before they can bring down the US and establish their East Asian/Pacific hegemony.
6 :
Looks like our government likes talking out of both sides of its mouth doesn't it?
7 :
CHINA WILL FALL LIKE RUSSIA. COMMUNISM DOESN'T WORK THE PEOPLE WILL RISE. WE WILL BE THEIR TO PICK UP THE PIECES. JUST LIKE WERE DOING IN RUSSIA. AMERICAN ENTERPRISE IS RUNNING RAMPANT IN THE FORMER SOVIET UNION. IT WOULD BE CRAZY NOT TO TAP INTO THE MANUFACTURING POWER THAT 2 BILLION CHINESE HAVE. THEY ARE PAID LOW WAGES AND THAT MAKES IT AFFORDABLE TO HAVE SOME OF THE MANY PRODUCTS WE USE TODAY.
8 :
communism was created by carl marx. It is the idea that everyone works for the better of the whole and no one is better or paid better than anyone else. example being that a school teacher would teach a shirt makers children in return for shirts, a carpenter would fix a plumbers wall in return for the plumbers services, ect. It is not evil or bad, and in fact a great idea. The problem is that it doesnt work because people are inherently greedy and power hungry and the powerful end up abusing their power, i.e. cuba, germany, ect. but the idea it is evil is just capitolist propaganda. NOT COUNTING the fact that being liberal has nothing to do with communism, it simply means everyone should have the right to live the way they want, not follow a set standard of hardcore neo-christian, 2.5 kids, married for 40 years, crap.
9 :
the ideal of Communism is a very good idea, unfortunately human greed always finds away to make it a mockery just look at the corruption now in the so called democracy's which is much worst than at anytime under communis state, their is only one diffrents about the two, communism you tendered to disappear when you protested, but by the look of thing that's going on in the so called democracies beaning arrested and secretly flow to some country to be torched to avoid any legal responsibility! looks like its all the same!!!
10 :
Ok first let me get to the core of your question... between capitalism and communism, which is inherently bad or good? Or maybe the difference? A. Capitalism, from a moral stance, is more evil... as it teaches ppl from birth that their entire worth evolves around 'self'. We see this everyday with our idolizing and rewarding the rich, most of whom inherited this wealth. The ppl who work just as hard all day long as janitors or store clerks are belittled. We reward the Donald Trumps, the Oprah Winfreys, the football stars, etc... If you live in a mobile home, you are considered trash. Communism evolves around community where you are valued by how much you put into your community and not by how much more you have than someone else. B. China/USA trade... I think you are asking if communism is considered so bad then why does the USA trade with them to the extent we do in order to make lots of money. - the answer is partially in part A of this answer... meaning there are no morals in a capitalist economy except to reward wealth no matter what means were used to obtain that wealth. - the other part of the answer to B is that the USA believes it is converting China to a free-market... the uneducated call this democracy because they don't understand that democracy has nothing to do with economic structures such as communist, capitalism, etc... There are many different forms of democracies. Simply put and to reiterate, China is finding that when you combine a free-market to a degree with communism, the result is the fastest growing economy in world history.

In what alternate universe does it make sense to give MORE money to the Obama administration?

In what alternate universe does it make sense to give MORE money to the Obama administration?
The Obama administration is spending $1.63 for every $1.00 it takes in. We have a $1.3 trillion per year spending deficit, and $13 trillion in national debt that Communist China owns 20% of! Yet liberals think that raising taxes on the top 2% to give Obama even MORE money to spend is a good idea? How do they figure? How is giving a crack addict MORE crack going to get them to stop smoking crack?

The same one that it makes sense to give more money to rich people to create jobs when demand for product doesn't demand more labor for production, because consumer confidence is low.
2 :
So your solution to the deficit is to not raise more money in taxes. That's ... interesting. Do you really not understand that making up the budget shortfall through higher revenues would solve the budget shortfall? The top 2% hasn't suffered from the recession. The top 2% has absorbed the ENTIRETY of the USA's economic growth since 1982. The top 2% contributes almost nothing to the American economy. Why not tax them more?
3 :
Maybe Bizzaro World. "The concept of "Bizarro" has been ingrained in popular culture where it has come to mean a weirdly mutilated version of anything, not confined to characters in DC Comics publications and as such, so has the concept of Bizarro World."
4 :
In what alternate universe is the GOP going to generate millions of new jobs and cut down on wasteful projects? Won't happen. They're all for sale...bought and paid for.
5 :
The leftist thinks that if you tax "the rich" more and give it to government, government will also resist the temptation to spend that extra cash and will instead pay down the deficit/debt. You buyin' that bullshit?
6 :
The tax increases are to reduce the deficit. We should increase everyone's taxes, but we'll start with the rich.
7 :
Apparently the same alternate universe where we transfer more wealth from the lower classes to the super rich in the form of "tax cuts." The GOP/TP are absolute liars! They claim multimillionaires need "tax cuts" to stimulate small business (Romney on Jay Leno) - yet, they have never addressed DIRECTED TAX CREDITS FOR JOB CREATION! The GOP/TP are crooks and liars. Watch - in TX, where the TP loons have taken over the State Legislature, the result of their 2 year tenure will be: -make life more difficult for pregnant teens -discriminate more against gays -steal from the middle class and gift the rich -NOTHING ELSE. Any takers?
8 :
money to spend? how about money to PAY THE NATIONAL DEFICIT? since 1980, since the Reagan cuts, we have been sunk into a national deficit, no longer depending on our own economy, but borrowing from others so we could have more. the only time taxes have been raised was in fact during the Clinton years, when our deficit was actually decreasing, and our economy was moving, but now that has all changed. we don't need more money to spend, we need to save money, make national security cuts and stop this mass mobilization of our armed forces. to live in this country, like all others, you must pay taxes. when people say if you don't like it here then get out, this is a complete contradiction of America. if you don't like it, change it, and as long as you keep it legal and pay your taxes, you can say whatever the hell you want, and that's damn sure worth my money.
9 :
In this universe, the Obama administration is dealing with the lingering adverse effects of the Great Recession which started under Bush and which was due to the bad Republican policies that were practiced for years. Such policies included the Bush administration's irresponsible fiscal policies which spent taxpayer money on expensive and unnecessary war while cutting taxes, which mostly benefited the wealthiest Americans. Clinton's budget surpluses were turned into record-setting deficits. Such bad policies also included lax oversight which allowed businesses to run amok and engage in practices that nearly completely crashed the economy. The Obama administration's formidable task was to jolt the economy out of the Great Recession, find a way to put the economy on a sustained recovery footing and alleviate the economic suffering of the millions of Americans who were adversely affected by the severe economic downturn. So far the Obama administration has been doing a good job but the recovery is slow. You know very well that the spending that the Obama administration has engaged in has been to try to help the crashed economy recover. President Obama has not started any unnecessary wars or transferred more of the tax burden from the rich to the middle class or relaxed regulatory oversight in order to let businesses come up with any more "creative" stunts that could crash the economy. If you or others of your ilk have any worthwhile suggestions as to how to accomplish helping the country fully recover from this dire situation, the likes of which we have not seen since the Great Depression, we most certainly have not heard them.
10 :
The same universe that it makes sense for me ( a man who makes less than 50k) to pay for a tax cut for those who make 5 to 5000 or more times as much. At least the Obama administration is willing to reinvest in this country. Also you should talk to your connie Reps if you want to save money, tell them to stop voting to raise your taxes.

Did China make a booboo?

Did China make a booboo?
I have been saying for a while that China would regret using Islam to rid areas like Tibet and other provinces of their unwanted nationalistic cultures. It now looks like just the barest of beginnings of the worst riots to hit China. Since our economy will collapse without a lot more money from China, what will happen if China starts having more pressing issues than giving us money? Thank you for your comment Josh. However, although it may still have a little ways to go, I believe we will be looking at the first seeds of a civil war in China. They will be in no condition to help anyone, including themselves. Even one of the most communist governments in the world can underestimate the power of enemies within its own borders.

We'll be forced to clean up our own act, I think. But I doubt very much that the Chinese are going to do that, they need a market for their goods and an engine for their economic growth and we're too stupid to see that if we lose all our industry and import products from another country we'll end up a third world country ourselves.
2 :
I'm not that up on all the world news and politics as you are so didn't know about this. But, I can say that surely they will regret such a mistake! And thinking ahead about the financial disasters that might take place, it just looks very bad. Only the Lord knows how he will take care of us when famine and other disasters hit. There will be so much misery and people blaming the wrong things because they are confused and bitter and need to blame something. Christians have been going through heavy trials for quite some years now---I see this as God purifying us so that we will trust him completely, and also be ready for worse times that will come upon us.

Happy to answer your question . during that period between 1840's to 1880's , indeed many chinese immigrated to the US,and many of them were from guangdong province fujian province south-China ,most of are poor farmers who live a miserable life and most of them had never been educated, since the year 1840 is the time when the British invaded China and started the famous Opium war! it's the beginng of recent chinese history! Their lives were quite bad at that time, the foreigners told them that the US is a good place where they can earn food ,find things to eat and live with freedom, just because of this , many of them were immigrated to America , in other words , they were cheated by foreigners , as I have mentioned at the begining , most of them lived along the costal areas in south China, that's also the reason why nowdays most of the chinese-expatriates' roots were from south china ! unfortunately, when they immigrated to the US , what's waitting them were not gold and happiness! but hardwork and discrimination! they had doctors' in china , but different from the doctors we know , those days , they are traditional chinese doctories and treat others with the acient chinese medcine(herbs and other animals' organs, ect) , while ,when they immirated to America , no one care them , many of them died of tiring job, maybe u know that the famous Pacific railway acrossing the US from east to the west was built by these chinese with the sacrifices of thousands of them! hope my answer would be helpful for you!

You could work for a company that does a lot of its trading in China, or you could be one of the few people in America that has detailed information about new products that Chinese companies are going to be producing.
2 :
First of all, you can't "speak Chinese". You can write Chinese, because ideographs used by speakers of various Chinese languages are largely the same, but you need to speak a specific language, such as Mandarin or Cantonese. Second, knowing "a little bit about China" is not enough. To succeed in China, you need long-term relationships with people who are in a position to seriously help you or introduce you to people who are in a position to seriously help you. As to making money investing in China, the most popular way seems to be buliding factories to make low-cost consumer products for sale in North America, Japan, and Europe...

grammar question: Difference between "can" and "could" i.e. You can / could make more money....?
Hello, I'm confused about the difference in meaning between the words "can" and "could". What is the difference in meaning of the two following sentences? 1. You "can" make more money investing in China than you "can" investing in America. 2. You "could" make more money investing in China than you "could" investing in America.

can is in the present most times could is in the future or past tense. You could buy gas for 75 cents a gallon in 1986,you can buy gas for 2.75 in 2010 and i suppose we could see prices as high as 5 dollars soon. we never can tell.

"Can" is present tense. "Could" (like "should," "would," and "might")is used two ways. It's the past tense of "can," as in "You could make more money investing in America fifty years ago than you can today," and it's also the conditional form of "can," as in "You could make lots of money investing in China if you had enough to start with." In the first sentence, "could" means "were able to." In the second, it means "would be able to." Does thios clear things up for you?
3 :
I believe that can asks if you are capable, could asks if you are willing

In your examples, I am taking can as the present indicative and could as the present subjunctive (not the past tense). So, for #1 you definitely will make more money investing in China. For #2, you might be able to make more money investing in China, but it is not definite. The subjunctive mood is a conditional mood; certain things must happen for it to come true. You need to meet those conditions in order to make more money in China.
