I'm 24, I was going to get house, I can afford, but then I wouldn't have money to have fun?
I just paid 600 to get out a plan to get a home. I make enough money to get house, so I decided to get a real big cool one. But when I was in the process of the getting the loan I regretted it. For the time in my life I have money, I'm buying sutff like soccer balls, footballs, baseball equipment, rockclimbing equipment, good rollerblades, I can save and maybe go to China, or make a trip to Japann. I always wanted trampoline, and I can get one. I can afford things now like going horseback riding, going scuba, I lvoe being able to afford bowling, and even pay for someone else's dinner. I was going to lose all that if I had gone ahead and taken the loan to get the house. I just wouldn't be able to afford spoiling myself. Am I stupid for backing down?

once you have a house you can get loads of loans
2 :
get a better job growing up is tuff.
3 :
if you cant afford spoiling yourself, then you just cant "afford" that kind of house yet. you have to think of your income to expense ratio. if your expense is way over 50% of your income, you should reconsider.
4 :
well whats more important.......a house that you can see yourself in and do whatever you want to it? or having fun and partying and all and doing stupid stuff......& not being able to fix up anything called "fun"? Ask yourself. i think you did pass up a really good deal and most other people would love a house.
5 :
Yes, get the loan and buy the house. You will still be able to do those other things just in moderation. The investment of a home outweighs everything else and will have loads more value in 30 years than your memory of falling off your trampoline that one time when you were drunk!
6 :
Get a house, but get a smaller one. You don't need all that extra room. Then you can afford both.
7 :
If I were again 24, I would spoil myself first and consider getting a house when I am 35-40!
8 :
Yes I think its reasonable to say so. I had the opportunity 9 yrs ago when I was 18yr old to go on a superb vacation to Europe. I instead opted to buy my first house. I sold it a Cpl years later, and after great tax benefits I also made money when I sold it & with all the money I made I was able to put it down and buy a more expensive house. I have kept moving up every two years & now I am in a 1.5 million dollar home and I have taken trips all arpund the world from my great investments. So you may feel like you will suffer in the beggining but its worth it to be responsible & make the sacrifice. You will reap the much greater rewards later.
9 :
all those things you are buying are short term fun, you will not be using them in 20 years, a house is something you will be using. It's better to own a house than to pay rent, all you have left after a year of renting a place is a years worth of rent reciepts. With a house you are building equity. Compromise and get a smaller house to start with, the payments will be lower and you will still have money to play with. Long term you will be much farther ahead with a house.
10 :
You're 24. If you're still unsure at 44, then worry. Owning a house is a huge responsibility. Better to back out now than regret it in a short time.
11 :
The thing you describe are stuff that lasts maybe a day or two, or a couple weeks if it's a trip. You're going to need a place to live always so why not make it a nice as you can. Besides, you will make more money in the future, you will be able to pick those things back up when you do. Also, did you adjust your taxes for the write-off your going to get from the house, that could be an extra $3000 a year and up depending on the price of the house.
12 :
You should go with a slightly small house, so you can have a little of both. Also, the toys are indeed fun, but the fun wears out after a few uses. I try to rent cool toys unless I know I am going to use them many times. For example, I wanted to get a nice boat, but after working the numbers it's cheaper to rent one once every month or two. A house serves two purposes, (1) you need to live somewhere and (2) after living there for years, you will build up equity in the property, which sure beats throwing the $ out the window to a landlord.
13 :
If I was 24, and making a good wage, I would bank it like crazy. I wouldn't buy a house yet, because you never know what's going to come up in your life. I wouldn't want to be tied down to a house, but I wouldn't want to blow my money either. At 24, you could begin saving big time for retirement, and quit work in 25 years with proper investing - instead of working until you're 70. Of course, with good planning, it's possible to have the house and the retirement. :)
14 :
have fun, spend for whatever gives you pleasure. dont complicate your life until you're ready, there's plenty of time for that. when you're finished 'sowing your wild oats' you will be glad to settle down and accumulate assets both tangible and intangible.
15 :
Well the first thing is I would look at is maybe a less expensive house. If that house is such a good deal, or you cant get something like it than I would really try to swing it. In time you will make more money and also maybe able to re finance for a lower payment later on. A house is the best investment you can make. In time you will be able to afford much better toys. Trust me I am 37years old and juts bought my first house 2 years ago. when I was your age I was too busy running around in sports cars that are now broken and gone, old memories of trips to the Bahamas and Vegas, and a low bank account .Now I have years to go before things level out and I can start to enjoy my life again. I cant stress enough how lucky you are and how much you should take advantage of this opportunity and really stick with it. It a long term investment that will pay off.
16 :
Why not get a more modest house as your first home? Then your mortgage would be a little more manageable but you'd still have some "mad money" every month. Buying real estate is such a good investment; at your age, you could be setting yourself up very nicely by getting into the real estate market so young.
17 :
you made a big mistake for backing out! you need to read about the "benefits and tax breaks" for owning a home. As you are single you must pay tax about 25-28% of income. By owning a home, the property tax, interest on the mortgage are deductible so that your tax rate may drop to 20%. In the mean time, properties ALWAYS appreciate in time (5 to 10 yrs). So if you need $$ you can open a home equity line of credit on your property and the interest is again tax deductible!! Things that you like for fun and have do not appreciate in time and they will most likely end up in Ebay (if you are lucky) or in garage sales!!
18 :
Well if your buying a big house you could allways rent out rooms so you have money to spend. Sound like a plan, I do you realy need a big house you could always buy a smaller one.
19 :
Get the house and get a room mate.
20 :
You are in luck! As housing market continues to slump, it is a good time NOT to buy. :) http://money.cnn.com/2006/08/24/real_estate/pluggedin_tully.fortune/index.htm http://money.cnn.com/2006/09/07/news/economy/housing_forecast.reut/index.htm?postversion=2006090713 As housing market slump, it is easier to calculate "Rent vs. Buy" scenario. Because "appreciation" is no longer a factor. Mortgage payment consists of two parts: interests and principal. Interests are like rent, which doesn't add to the equity to your house. It simply disappear as your pay it. If interests portion of the mortgage payment is roughly equal to rent of equivalent property, then it is a decent buy. For example, let's buy a $500,000 condo with 0% down and apply interests only loan (just like renting a place). Mortgage payment would be $3250/month. It is a bad buy, because you can enjoy same property for $2000/month. Please note that I assume the tax benefits from home cancel out fees from home association and property tax. For more accurate calculation, consult with your CPA or accountant. But NOT your realtor, whom will say anything to get the deal to go through. And again, if you like a particular property, then paying more may be reasonable. You are the only person who can decide how much more premium you are willing to pay.
21 :
You are not stupid for backing down. I suggest you pursue buying a house, but a more modest one. It will grow in value. Keep buying "up" as you can afford.

how does America make most of it's money?

how does America make most of it's money?
It seems we are no longer a big agricultural country. It appears most things in the stores are made in china. Just wondering what are we selling and to who or how are we making our money in the world?

We are trading wealth for mundane merchandise made in the orient. All it takes is one dollar at a time, which makes it millions, billions, trillions, so on and so forth... America will suffer a severe market correction to prove that at the present rapid rate of progress it is certainly not feasible for a long time transfer of this wealth to third world countries.

Tax, mixed with selling weapons of mass destruction. Making nuclear weapons and devices for export, thus being war materials. Stealing oil from other nations (Iraq), denying the UN, lying and heavy handed tactics to bully the rest of the world who aren't as willing to lie and cheat to get what they want. Using slave labour in asian countries to make products of which they will then sell at highly inflated prices to keep the gigantic profit.

Have you heard of Microsoft? The iPod? Hollywood? Google? Yahoo? Sounds like an honest question and you had a bunch of idiots answer it. In reality, the US does not need to depend on exports to create wealth. The vast majority of wealth in the US is created by Americans doing valuable things in America for other Americans -- exports and imports are scarcely an issue. Look around you and see what people buy. That is what we sell. The misconception that we (or any country) can only get wealth by taking it from other countries is called "mercantilism", and was completely discredited by 200 years ago. Sadly, ignorance and stupidity persist. But anyway, the US continues to be a massive producer and exporter of agriculture -- nothing about that has changed, except that only 1 or 2% of the working population is so employed owing to high productivity. Other areas in which the US is particularly dominant include any and all creative business (Hollywood, video games, advertising and marketing expertise); financial services; the most value-added and innovative sides of any technology (software, biotech, microprocessors and DSPs, cell phone infrastructure, telecommunications services and hardware, computers); everything related to healthcare; Boeing airliners; and college education.

How does this process work? If we choose not to pay, then who will police us to make the US government pay?

No actions are required. Such debts are typically in the form of bonds, and are not redeamable on demand. Instead, the holder recieves interest payments, and redeems the principle at maturity. Defaulting on bonds is a very bad thing, it ruins your ability to issue more bonds, later, typically increasing the interest rate you pay drastically, so governments, in particular, try very hard to avoid defaulting on thier bonds.

well, they ain't taken dip! Its the American consumer that is in debt not just Uncle Sam......and if they chose to dump that one trillion US dollars on the open market........there wouldn't be a snowball chance in he!! you would be eating a rid-eye streak tonight. funny...more value in a persons mouth(gold cap) than their pocket! 8.6 trillion is the US national debt borrowed by the general fund the highest ever in history. The US dollar keep declining it's time to start recognizing the early warning signs of a gathering storm regarding the strength and the stability of the United States. Spending programs such as war and civil servants, health, education, welfare, urban renewal, and the like, should come from taxing at first the wealth and income. But instead, the Government adopted the philosophy of cutting taxes to boost economic growth. It does not work! The National Debt: Printed by the US Mint. 1910 2.6 (billions) 1920 25.9 1930 16.2 1940 43.0 1950 257.4 1960 290.2 1970 389.2 1980 930.2 1990 3,233.3 2000 5,674.2 2005 7,932.7 2006 8,506.9 (trillion) Income taxes were/are cut, and has not create more money for the economy to grow, instead the US Mint has to print more and more money, which gives it to the Fed Reserve, which gives it to the White House, to pay for the countries programs (and whatever). And the process is repeated, over and over again. The more money gets printed, the more money goes in circulation, which chase the same items. It is that creation of money that visibly raises goods prices and lowers the purchasing power of money. Inflation is defined here as the creation of new money by monetary authorities, i.e, the US Mint. More credit was needed by regular Americans to make the necessary purchases. Consumer debt increased by $434 billion, from $839 billion in 1993 to $1,273 billion in 1996. 1996 - 1.2738 trillion 1997 - $1.3449 1998 - $1.4421 1999 - $1.5563 2000 - $1.7358 2001 - $1.8690 2002 - $1.9527 2003 - $2.0344 2004 - $2.1206 2005 - $2.1780 2006 Qtr 1 - $2.1900 trillion House Mortgages - Outstanding Foreigners own over $8.2 trillion of assets in the USA. Equities on the US stock market are at historically high PE ratios, some 3 times above the norm and twice the level of PE ratios on foreign stock markets. Real estate looks as it has peaked. Especially with arise in interest rates in prospect? Here's where the "point of recognition" becomes important. Foreigners will, firstly, consider how far the dollar will depreciate against their home currency over the next 12 months. Could it be a 5%, 10%, 15%, drop? Then the question is: "Can USA assets rise by 15% to compensate for the currency loss and leave the investor in a level, no win, no loss situation?" The answer seems to be a clear "No". Foreigners/Americans with large sums of money at risk are quietly taking profits out of the US market, US unbacked dollars is being used to bolster the market indices so the average investor (US and foreign alike) are kept blind to what is about to hit them. This disaster-to-come has been created artificially by (a) politicians' selfish desires to portray a financially healthy US economy for the advancement of their own political careers, (b) to benefit small, united groups of unscrupulous, rich, and over-speculative investors that make significant (and often wrong) investment decisions but also make significant campaign contributions, (c) refusing to warn the populous regarding the outcome of consistently over printing US unbacked dollars. Inflation, has become your new tax. See here below, and know if the tax cuts benefited you. The top 1% of households own almost 40% of the nation's wealth. The top 4% of Americans own 60% of the nation's wealth. The top 10% of Americans own over 70% of nation's wealth. The top 20% of the nation's households own 85% of the nation's total wealth. The bottom 40% of households own one-fifth of 1% (or 0.2%) of the nation's wealth. The bottom 60% of Americans own only 5% of the nation's wealth. The bottom 80% of Americans own only 15% of the nation's wealth. The total wealth in America totals $27 trillion dollars. America is addicted to "cheap" According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics..... saving rate 1965 8.5% 1975 10.5% 1985 11% 1995 5% 2005 -0.4% the savings rate in January 06 was a negative 0.7%... that is, the average! American household spent 0.7% more than it made. Now.......... the kicker! the gross domestic product is attributable to consumer spending? A whopping 70% ... Now we have the "catch 22".......... If the American people start to save...... say 10% of their income..... thats gonna be 10% less the consumer is gonna buy ..... which means Companies sell less............... "UNLESS".... Wages go up!....... but with the all time high in Corporate profits in the past few years and a good part going to CEO's and insiders..... a 10% increase ain't gonna happen soon! SO!.........retirement is out of the picture if the American people don't save they have to keep working! NOW........the flip side! we can thank Microsoft, Warren Buffet, General Motors, General Electric, Motorola, Wal-Mart, Target and Ford for pouring billions of dollars into China...................... China saves 50% of their income! In search of better wages and a better life,300 million Chinese peasants will move to the cities in the next 15 years. This means China must build a new city the size of Philadelphia every 30 days. China is now constructing the most advanced rapid transit system in the World. Each year for the next 20 years, China will consume as much structural steel as would be needed to construct every building in Manhattan. According to Professor Jeremy Siegel of the Wharton School of Business, "In the not too distant future, the economy of China will be nearly twice as large as that of the US, an equal to the combined economies of all of North America, Europe and Japan". Already China is the world's largest maker of toys, clothing and consumer electronics and is swiftly moving up the ladder in car production, computer manfacturing, biotechnology and telecommunications, thanks to low-cost workers and high-tech factories. Author Ted C. Fishman writes in China, Inc., "The Country is closing in on a 30-year run during which its economy has doubled nearly three times over. The surge has no equal in modern history. Neither Japan's nor South Korea's postwar booms come anywhere close." ------------- and they say..........this growth trend is unstoppable! -------------- In 1776 a few fat farmers got together and with the penmanship of a poet wrote down on a piece of paper.... the American dream! Now..............young people in America.......... think $10 an hour....a ipod, computer games and flipping burgers is................... that American dream!

Just make sure that you will not be buying from China the products of the following clothing brands -- because they are part of eBay's VERO program Verified Rights Owner Program and are VERY VIGILANT on sale of their products. If they think you are selling knockoff products -- and buying from China increases that likelihood -- they can ask eBay very easily to shut off your auctions. You'd be wasting your money for the purchase of these goods and the shipping of these goods to you http://pages.ebay.com/help/community/vero-aboutme.html

Is it possible to use PayPal to transfer money from China to the United States?
If so, how does this work? Are there any fees associated with this transaction? Is it a cost effective way to make such a transfer? My initial thoughts are: 1. Set up a PayPal account and fund it with Chinese currency from a Chinese bank account. 2. Set up a second PayPal account and connect it with a US bank account. 3. Make a PayPal (China) to PayPal (US) transfer. 4. Transfer PayPal (US) funds into US bank account. Is the above possible/allowed? If not, what is the best/easiest/most cost effective way to transfer money from China to a US bank account? I am aware that China is quite averse to having its currency leave the country.

paypal transfer is easy and fast. 1. The receiver must also have the papal account. 2. the fee is about 3.9% of the total amount. 3. You don't need to transfer the monry to RMB, dollor will work. If the amount is big, better use bank transfer. Like money gram or western union. The fee is little. Also you just need to tranfer us dollor. about 1-2 days, you can received.

How do they determine the wealth of money?

How do they determine the wealth of money?
How do they determine that a U.S. Dollar is worth more than money in some other country like China? What is it that makes some money worth more than others. The US dollar is just a special kind of paper. Is it the long process in making the dollar or materials used on it that makes it worth more? If another country did the same would its money become worth the same as the U.S.? -interesting question

1 :
It's determined by auction in the currency markets every day. Just like you determine what a share of IBM stock is worth and what a share of Microsoft stocks is worth.
2 :
The value of money in fiat currencies, which most modern nations use, is in the soundness of all the systems in that country that affect the ability of the country to enforce it's requirement that transactions in that country be done using that currency. So a person outside the country must continuously assess the likelihood that the money they hold will be honored by the country that issued it. As a country grows richer, and more stable and it's systems of enforcement of markets and law and fiscal policy and monetary policy improve, the value of its currency improves.

Take as much as you can,the price here is going up considerably. If you are the first time to China, you'd better have a guide.
2 :
US 1 = 7 RMB (chinese money) The places in china is much cheaper than hear in the US. If you want all your flights, and hotel set, go to EXPEDIA, there are deals there. OR you can search hotels on your own, it's simple go on google and search for hotels in shanghai or where ever you are staying. Simple.
3 :
Well extremely low budget in China can be really low budget. Anyway, for plane tickets see www.elong.com and for train tickets see this site for train schedules and prices http://www.travelchinaguide.com/china-trains/index.htm I am going to put all prices in RMB (chinese yuan), so you will have to convert them to your currency yourself. Plane tickets are about 600 RMB, though prices vary considerably. If you get a good deal it might be 300-400 RMB. Cheap meals in Beijng and Shanghai are about 10-20 RMB, a meal at KFC is 20-25 RMB, though you could eat much cheaper if you want. Instant noodles are 2-3 RMB. Western food is usually 50-100 RMB per person. Park and tourist attraction prices vary. A place that is a day's attraction is about 100-150 RMB, while other places are cheaper they will only keep you amused for half a day or a few hours. Hotel prices vary, look at www.elong.com again to see the prices. But an ok hotel in Shanhai is going to 200-300 RMB. If you are going to other places, then it may be a lot cheaper 100-200 RMB for the same quality hotel. In the end it really depends on what you are doing, where you are staying and how much you eat. I have travelled to shanghai and beijing on 500 RMB a day for 2 people in one hotel room. You might want to save money, but you really want to experience as much as possible. Maybe budget 200 a day, and some days you will spend more and others less. Then work out plane tickets and hotel prices seperately.

How to avoid taxi drivers detour around on my China tour?

How to avoid taxi drivers detour around on my China tour?
My guide tell me that i must have notice drivers in China. They often take foreigners detour around to make more money. Is it true? We will travel in Beijing, any suggestion? TQ

You can't really avoid it. Mainland Chinese business persons are spiritually and politically commanded to taking every financial advantage they can, regardless of whether it is honest or dishonest.
2 :
set a fixed price before the trip.
3 :
Taxi scams are common around the world. There was a famous case a few years ago of a New York City taxi driver who charged a Koren tourist $300 to drive from JFK airport to Brooklyn (should have cost $30). The only sure fire way to avoid taxi drivers is to not take taxis. The best way to avoid being over-charged is to know approximately what the correct charge is in advance and tell it to the driver.
4 :
When you visit a place in China, tell your tour guide where you want to go in advance and ask for advice. Or ask your hotel reception and let them tell you the approximate distance, or the use of cost. You can write them down together with some nessary phone number o a note. And write down the car's license plate number, then give it to driver. Then the driver will know the what to do. Of course, the vast majority of Chinese drivers are good, but you should take care for some bad ones. Oh, Beijing is an perfect place to travel as the capital of China. Here, you can experience the long history of China. Now, it will help you know what you can do in Beijing and how to save money. Have a good trip! http://www.onlinechinatours.com/save-money-on-china-trip.html
5 :
Abe Cool right. Even some Japanese taxi driver cheat. But all know how to tilt head just right when smoking cigarette.
6 :
u can't, cabbies always do that ALL OVER THE WORLD tho. not just china.
7 :
Only get in metered taxis in china - there are many unmetered ones, especially around airports. Check that the meter is starting from zero - they occasionally' forget'. If a metered drived starts to quote a price rather that the meter, just walk away. Most airports have ranks with security guards these days go there - they will also post the approx charges major destinations within the city Lonely planet and other guides also do price estimates The flag fall is always less than 16 RMB - thats the most expensive iv e seen and iv e beed all over, i ve seen it as low as two RMB. Shanghai is 11 or 12 now i guess, guangzhou 7, shenzhen 12 (16 at night) nanjing 11 but dunno BJ Go to google maps and chart long journeys - it will also give approx distances Having said all this, i have lived in China for 5 years, and have been subjected to scam attempts maybe 10 times, only one that i recall was successful - and i have already told you how to avoid it!!

The moves in Google's share price are influenced far more by the overall US stock market than developments in its license or service availability in China. In comparison, that kind of news HAS HAD a huge influence on Baidu's stock price. Look at how each stock performed after each spurt of news on the status of Google's chinese license the last couple of months. China is only a small part of Google's current business and it would take a lot for it to ever become a huge part of its business. While China has more internet users than the US, internet advertising and search engine advertising are both very small in size compared to the US. But for Baidu, China is 99% of it's business. Anything that weakens or strengthens their hand in their home market is bound to make a big difference to the stock price.

how to solve the China problem in the US?

how to solve the China problem in the US?
China is a huge problem in the US. Everything seems to be made in china -- it is causing American companies to go bankrupt, and it is ruining the economy. So how would you go about fixing this? My plan is to take over China economical -- raise tariffs to and from china to a ridiculous amount over like 2 years so companies have enough time to get out, and refuse to bring them down until china becomes a democracy -- then, there will be a minimum wage and companies such as wall-mart won't take advantage of the Chinese people's factory laborers. Since there is no minimum wage in china, people work for barley any money -- so things are cheaper to make in china, instead of the US. If china becomes democratic, they probably will have a minimum wage, and then there will be no more problem with factories being in china to make things so cheap. Well.. i don't really care if prices on things go up, because I am already rich.. and im never going to run out of money. I already have enough to live off of, yet here I am trying to make the world a better place. I am noble.

I don't want to offend. But you really need to learn a little bit economics and political science. You should think about who benefits so much from the cheap products made in CHINA. It's American customers. Do you want to pay a much higher price for almost everything? Your wallet will shrink! The cheap labor in China is not due to the political system, but the large population. Not many American companies go bankcrupt because of China. You also need to see many American companies invest their money on high-value added products, like automobile, IT industry.... Now Chinese companies cannot compete with them.
4 :
First, China's in an unprecedented phase of their own history, namely their Industrial Revolution. In terms of US firms going bankrupted...doubtful... that's why we're in a dangerous inflationary period, because we're buying all of our stuff and EVERY one else's. If US Firms go under, it's called an Open Market for a reason. The concern centers on China buying US Bonds on the open market. At some point, those bonds will become due as they are sold and traded on the secondary market.

If the human beings that make up government somehow believe they have a right to go beyond what is reasonable in controlling me and all other citizens, then I must believe I have the right to defy them and attempt to censor their unreasonable use of force against me.

Do various searches online for keywords such as home based virtual assistant, hire virtual assistant, hire data entry operator or clerk, outsource word processor, outsource data entry .,.. those types of terms should help you locate legitimate companies that hire independent contractors to work from their homes providing administrative type services. What will happen if China requests its money?

What will happen if China requests its money?
We, the United States of America, owe China a lot of money, obviously. Last time I checked, it was over 800 billion, probably over a trillion by now. So what happens if China all at once demands their money? Or do we have some kind of agreement to prevent that? If they request it all, we obviously can't pay it, so will the government try everything to come up with money, making our dollar value drop even moreeee? Also, if we go into war with China, will we ignore our debt to them and consider us debt free of an extra trillion bucks? When do you think we'll go into war with China, if we go into war with them at all? Last thing, your opinion, do you think we'd win the war with China if we ever got into a war with China? Personally I'd say no. I think we have better training, and equipment, but they have over a billion people they can use in the military if they NEED to. We have like 200,000 people who can go. (not including allies, just U.S. vs China) Ahem assuming nuclear war doesn't happen. Just regular ol' conventional war, which is already probably too much to hope for.

If we were to go to war with China they would loose alot of food because we are a major food trading source or it would be a complete nuclear disaster. China will just try to eventually run our goverment so far into debt that we wont be able to afford a military.
3 :
Um, they won't 'request' money. They will simply sell all U.S. Treasuries at auction. Oh by the way, they started selling back in March. Hold on for a wild ride.
4 :
What they own are Treasury securities. http://www.treasury.gov/resource-center/data-chart-center/tic/Documents/mfh.txt As you can see, they did sell off about $30 billion, which is pocket change. If they sold all of them on the open market, it would probably devalue the Dollar, but it depends on who buys them. They won't sell them off, or do anything to devalue the Dollar, because they attach their currency to the Dollar. China does not let their own currency float on the open market like the Dollar. They attach it to the Dollar, to create a trade imbalance, favoring them. They actually invest in US securities to keep their own currency stronger. China is too interested in building it's economy and growing wealth to be interested in warring with anyone. Actually, what is happening today, happened in the reverse hundreds of years ago, when they were the world's economic superpower, and the U.S was the emerging nation.
5 :
There will not be winners in war.

if China asked for its money back, the usa would sell some fictitious story to the americans, because americans are so gullable they will believe anything. the usa would of course attack China militarily, which is precisely why China doesnt ask for its money. in fact, i am pretty sure that China bought u.s. govt bonds out of coersion, and blackmale by the u.s govt.

Is China's morality crisis the reason behind the Chinese credibility crisis?

Is China's morality crisis the reason behind the Chinese credibility crisis?
People without any moral compass in China producing tainted food, toys and drugs just because they see it an easy and quick way to make money. This in turn puts a big question mark over the credibility of made in China products. Is morality crisis the only reason behind the Chinese credibility crisis or there are other reasons as well?

There are good and bad people in every country, and China is no exception. China has the population as much as the population of 25 mid-size countries combined, thus, 25 times of news come out everyday more than other countries. For example, the Japanese ex-foreign Minister was found having accepted bribes. Japanese men are said to be crazily interested in traveling abroad in a group to buy cheap sex services from south asian hookers. Another example, there are bunches of schemes going on in the Wall Street. The hedge fund manager Madoff has defrauded thousands of investors of $18 billion dollars. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bernard_Madoff By seeing the above examples, do you believe that the moriality and credibility of other countries' are anywhere better than China's ? Edit : @catlover .... morality can go beyond laws. How about a married japanese man keep buying sex services from hookers, what kind of morality he has towards his family ? The asker is asking about Morality, not asking if prostitution should be legalised. @catlover .... I dont eat rotten fruits, regardless it is a rotten apple or rotten orange. They are rotten !! Did you get it ? @catlover ..... I deeply hate anyone who does thing beyond morality include those greedy people who poison food and those dirty men who buy sex services from hookers. Edit : @ Lim .... dont you know that China executes death penalty ? Can u read my answer again. China has a population 25 times bigger than a mid size country, thus, more news can be found. On the same token, China has 25 times more scientists than many countries. .
2 :
Chinese people generally do very well academically overseas, they prove themselves to be intelligent and wise, they are known to be hard working too. The fact that so many Chinese products are tainted to a level that is lethal can only be explained by lack of morality of some people. Yes there are bad people in every country. But if you lose money at least some of it could be recovered with or without a conviction. Prostitution should and could be legalized in every country. Tainted products are harmful to our health and sometimes have killed humans, most of the time children. You cannot ever get a dead person back. I have heard many Chinese people said that they would not buy any food products from and made in China. Chinese products have lost a lot of credibility. @dog lover - so you're more concerned about married men going to brothels than poisonous food products including baby milk powder that killed babies and changing pork into beef, thank you for showing us your moral standard. @dog lover - of course I get it, I am saying no consumers, Chinese or not, deserve all the rotten and dangerous products we get out of China and this hurts its credibility. If you don't admit the reality there are immoral food producers in China, your country and its people are only going to suffer more as you cannot do anything with something that does not "exist".
3 :
Cat has given a very good answer. There is no comparison between tainted foods (which kill or maim for life) poisoned toys (which do the same thing as the tainted food) with some man who has a affair while being married. Do you understand the differences dog? One item is a crime and it kills children the other is a bad marriage but it is not illegal nor does it kill children or maim them. Maybe the person who has a affair would poison the children's food too but there is no connection that has been proven that this is the case. If you believe poisoning children and a man having a affair are comparable then you do not need to be in control of any child. When any person or company gets caught poisoning tons of milk destined for children than there is a very big problem with all aspects of the business. This should be a big flag to all involved that the QC the QA and all other processes have failed. When this happens more than one time then these companies should be shut down and a complete investigation run as to where the ball was dropped and what actions need to be taken to prevent this from ever happening again. All products should be recalled and destroyed. This should happen in China as well as any other country where anything like this is caught, but this question is about Chinese credibility not some other nations. Many people here in this section have a very hard time understanding these English questions. This question was asked by a person who, as pc says, has the right to ask anything they wish. This question is about China's morality and credibility (everybody understand so far), the person asking this should be given the same respect you would like if you ask a question. You still with us dog? This question has nothing to do with some young black punk shooting his competition about turf. It has nothing to do with some married man having a affair. The question is simple and strait forward. If you do not have the mental capability to understand the question get somebody to help you, then show the respect you would like if you ask a question.
4 :
There are good and bad people in every country, and China is no exception however China has had a string of high profile events that have put "made in China" in question. Part of the problem lies in the fact that there is no real legal come back process if anything goes wrong. But dog lover what about the 1 million people conned in the ant farming scheme with so-called government backing. What about the thousands Chinese officials who like to visit Thailand as sex tourists or have paid for mistresses. What about the Chinese officials who get put to death for corruption the highest being the head of the drug and food safety department. What about products that have been proved to have put in hospital over 300,000 children from using products from the majority of Chinese milk producers. But Lim it happens more than 25 times more than those 25 countries..
5 :
It is unwise for people who live in glass houses to throw stones. America never had a "moral compass", so they are in no position to criticize others. Is America's morality crisis the reason behind the American financial crisis? American drug abuse crisis? American violent crime crisis? American multiple foreign wars crisis? American inner-city decay crisis? American racism crisis? American national debt crisis?
6 :
Your presumption is supportable. Evidence indicates that the CCP has long denied the citizens of the PRC any secure access to their moral compass.

2 :
We used to call it PRINTING more money. No, we cannot really do that, because it would not create more VALUE. Value is the sum of what people would be willing to pay for goods and services that we produce. If we create more money, then the cost of our goods and services would increase, but the value would remain the same. The challenge, really, is to PRODUCE more goods and services, and deliver more of that value to China, in exchange for a return of the money that we owe to them. That's actually not a bad way to go, since it creates jobs, jobs create wealth, and wealth creates comfort and domestic tranquility. We actually have to BE SMARTER and work MORE EFFICIENTLY to go about it. And have no doubt -- we certainly will.
